Default Long or Short domain names?

What's your choice? Do you think short domain name is good or not?

I would always prefer a short domain name. The shorter the domain, the easier it is to remember. Shorter domains look and sound more professional although some exceptions may apply.

In the opinion of some experts not the short name but 'branding' is the key. 'ebay' conveys no meaning, 'google' is spelt erroneously, 'yahoo' is just an expression to convey joyous mood and 'Amazon' is a rain forest, isn't it? It does not matter what name you come up with, you must figure out how to make it a Brand.

I'd go for the shorter name if I can get a meaningful one, but I'm not averse to longer names as they fare better in a number of search engines.

Small/Large name + Memorable name + Meaningful name = Easy to remember domain.

Although a short domain is more preferrable, longer domains are good if they contain important keyword(s) and are descriptive about the site.

If you are not promoting your website, it dose not metter what is the D.N.
One of my D.N. is renovationsinlondon but to find it in google takes a LONG TIME!

Yeah, how to ebay do it?!?

I'll be setting up a domain for my band, but it's got quite a long name. I'd like a short domain but the full name would look better.
