Default Costing of .info

I just wonder why costing of .info is cheap for first year and it becomes same as .com for another year. Whats this? Is it a trick?

I don't think so.... but one thing is true as domain gets older it's value-cost gets increased nomatter whether it is .info or .net or .com
Keyword rich domains which are active and have good value (PR, number of backlink, alexa rank) can have high value

I don't get it Harry!!!!
You mean if you don't renew it and wanna buy it again , it will get increased or either you've renewed your domain or not it will get increased in both cases!

I'm getting freaked  I've sticked with my web host for the 3rd year and the membership is getting cheaper and cheaper.
I'm afraid that it will come a day , I won't be able to hold my baby domain that I invented his name

I dont understand what you people are saying. I have just a simple doubt. Why costing .info for first year is 0.99 or 1.99 and for second year its 8$ or same as .com domains. Is it some marketing technique?

I think it's a marketing technique. A promo rate will attract buyers. Profits will have to be shelved in the short run. The .INFO third level domain (TLD) name is relatively new.

TECH , sometimes you can find promotions , the most of the times is about .INFO and .ORG because the majority of them are for non-profitable organizations or just for information and education, and the REISTRAR tries anyway that let him sells this type of domains.

The wondering was about the domain's price that get increased by time as Harry had mentioned , and it depends also on its popularity!

I was wondering if the incrementation of the price must be paid to the registrar or to the domain holder!? And is the domain owner get involved with this issue and he gonna buy his own by a $$$$$$$$ , that I can't handle man.

Why you create a domain and spend time and effort to take your site this rank , then you have to pay more!? For you own work!??

If you forget to renew your domain before expiry, it gets into 30 days redemption period after expiry date and thereafter it is either set for auction or for re-registration. If your domain is keyword rich or short (3-4 word)named then it get’s good value/cost and you may have to spend more in such case(if gets into auction )

Because it is a preferred choice of spammers, they often use .info, .biz etc.
