Default How do I acquire a .edu domain name?

Can you give some idea, how to acquire .edu domain?

webdeveloper.com/management/manage_buying_domains.html has information on .edu . Looks like an expensive business though.

Thanks Peter, my one of the friend has given this link as well, I have checked both it seems very difficult to acquire .edu but there might be a way to get associate to any authorised institution to get acquire it. educause.edu/edudomain/faq.asp

You cannot register a domain name if u are not opening up any website that is about education. You have to submit to a form that the goverment will see through and takes a long time. I suggest you forget the idea and do .com. Trust me i wanted to get a .edu before since there was a deal about students getting free domains(.edu email address) and it was difficult to get it. I didn't even try to get it. there is a lot of process.
