.net or .com?

Recently I've been noticing quite a few things where .net domains have been becoming a lot more popular, one time everyone just wanted a .com domain name. Any ideas? And, do you think that this is going to change the world of domains over time?

I believe most people still prefer a .com extention but there are so many other extention out there. I believe that .com and .net are by far the most popular ones, and to be real truthful .com extention out runs any other extention by some great distance!

I personally prefer .com but I wouldn't having a couple .net domains, and to me .net sounds pretty cool.

So which do you prefer .com or .net? and why is this so?

Nomatter what tld you are having, all you have to concentrate on building your brand rather than going behind getting most preferred tld;
Today it's very difficult to get a specific .com and if you get one you have to pay a large amount so i would suggest you build your brand name by marketing.
