Default How long after a domain expires before its available

When your domain name expires how long do you have to renew it? how long will they give you before they take back the domain name? What will they do with it if you don't renew it? Will they sell it or what?

Does anyone know much about this stuff?

Depends on the registrar, normally the registrar hold a domain for at least 30 days.

Normally every registrar holds a domain for at least 30 days. Best way is do a whois for a domain and you can see the service it is registered through. Go to that site and have a look at their policy.

Many registrar's inform about domain renewal to the owner of domain before the expiry date so that he can renew it and avoid last moment rush for renewal. But if you fail to renew your domain then registrar has full rights to sell your domain.
