Hello,
In shared plan you can share your allocated disk space with the help of addon domains. But you cannot control the amount of contents that can be added under the addon domain or the bandwidth usage that will be done by the addon domains. Also the client owning the addon domain will not be provided with the cPanel. All the required parameters for the addon domain will need to be set using the cPanel of the main domain under which the addon domains are added.
Whereas in reseller hosting you will have a seperate cPanel for each of the domain being added. Also you can control the amount of disk allocation, bandwidth, number of email accounts that can be created under the domain, mysql databases etc for the domains with the help of different packages that you will add in your reseller control panel.

You cannot resell with shared plan. You need to have a reseller plan.
