What you all prefer VPS or shared account for reselling?

Hi Guys,

I am very curious to know that what is more preferable a VPS or the shared account for reselling . As every one know that virtual private servers are usually more expensive on an average then shared accounts but they also have many advantages.

If you are a bit knowledgable regarding managing of a VPS, then i'd refer to go for a VPS any day because you have full control on what to install & fix. The hosting environment VPSAs get more control as compared to shared hosting enviournment. However, if you're just a new-bie provider then it's recommended to start off with a reliable reseller provider to cut down on costing. What happens if a customer requests a PHP module to be installed and you are on reseller hosting

Well, form my point of view its completly depends upon, whats your needs are. For most of user who use these type of service, Its also a decision on 100% expertise, If you know about server managment VPS gives you alot more options and control . the resellers account should be sufficient but if you need control or trying to learn to get dedicated server without the cost. The VPS might be great way to go.

I don't see any point in having a shared account for reselling purpose. Although if it's between some friends and relatives that you wish to resell to that's fine. Shared plan does not allocate a separate control panel as we know. Instead a reseller account is better.

Right I will recommend a reseller or a VPS to start reselling. Shared package comes with one control panel and any additional domains that you add later, are also managed from one control panel. You should consider a reseller plan so atleast the additional domains you add can have a separate cPanel. Your clients can manage their accounts separately.

You might find them expensive if compared to a shared account. But shared plans were not really designed for reselling if you see. It is better to get your own server and resell services. Your customers can get the assurance that you own the server and they are directly dealing with you.
