I have heard that CSF is a popular firewall with in the web hosting industry. Can this help to secure the hosting account on the shared server. Can any one please let me know how can we can secure our shared web hosting account too.. ?

CSF is indeed an advanced firewall. You will find more configurable options with CSF as compared to other firewalls. However, if you are on a shared server, they are already secured by a CSF.

Yes, CSF is commonly used and preferred firewall which have many advance setting and security patches for securing your server from attacks and security breaches.
If you are hosted on a shared server then you need to have to worry about server security since it's handled by your webhost and you never have access to your shared server. All webhost have different level of server security and policies so check about server security and support with your preferred webhost before you pay them.
