Hosting Question on DNS MX Record

I have a website/domain name registered on xyz company. The mail for this domain runs through xyz mail service. Will I have any problems if I change the DNS servers for the domain to a different host can be whuk?
I am planing to continue using xyz for mail for this particular domain but need new hosting service provider.

You mean mail on an external provider and dns with a separate company ?

Yes, you can use different MX record. You will not face any problem with the name server of one server and MX record of another server.

I think you will also need to modify your dns zone accordingly. a custom MX entry in the dns zone will be required
