Default cPanel released beta for Windows Server 2008

cPanel, the leading Web hosting control panel software provider, has released the beta of its first Microsoft Windows Server® 2008-based product. Traditionally a Linux- and FreeBSD-based supplier of hosting automation tools, cPanel is collaborating with Microsoft to provide its customers with a greater choice of platform selection with Microsoft IIS7.

Excellent news, I'm sure there will be more demand for Windows now that cPanel will possibly be supported on that platform

That's a great news, and it seems that cPanel is going to capture the control panel market in the web hosting industry on both the platforms.

Demand would certainly go up if it works perfectly on windows hosting platform as that of Linux.

It's going to be a healthy competition between cPanel and Plesk. No matter who ever wins the end user is surely going to be benefited. Web hosting users are soon going to use more user friendly control panel loaded with advanced features. Price would certainly going to play an important role in this competition.

Isn't plesk a product of parallels along with virtuozzo, would they use integration of cPanel control panel for VPS / Semi-Dedicated instances?

Maybe cPanel will also develop a virtualisation management software of their own.

Not sure if cPanel will launch virtualization software but they are certainly looking forward to launch their windows version. Competition will be tough for parallels (Plesk) once full version of cPanel windows is released. Lets see whats the pricing for cPanel windows version

The competition would certainly be intense since many would be eagerly looking forward to full release of cPanel for Windows. I wouldn't be too surprised though if many users switch to cPanel from the existing Windows hosting control panels.
