Default Hybrid Cloud Hosting- What is it?

Hi. I've been reading a lot about cloud hosting recently. One term I didn't quite understand was 'hybrid cloud hosting". Can anyone please explain it in simple terms?

Default Hybrid Cloud Hosting- What is it?

Hybrid cloud hosting is based on a combination of public and private cloud. It means that a company takes the services of a public cloud service provider like Amazon to store its archive data files. And for its operational customer data, it would have a in-house storage setup.
This helps companies to avail cheap and scalable resources of a public cloud yet keep its mission critical data secure within its own servers.
Hope this clears up things a bit for you.

hey guys. glad I found this thread. From what Reeve mentioned, hybrid cloud seems to be a pretty solid hosting solution in terms of security. There is a general opinion that there are still some security concerns with cloud hosting. I think the hybrid cloud is a solution to have a secure and fool proof, redundant and cheap hosting solution.

Would the others care to sound off their opinions regarding this?

yeah right you are. certainly seems that way. large organizations would certainly want to store their critical and sensitive data in a more secure location.

whether its hybrid, public or private cloud, end user never knows where the data is being stored [written on disc], also after all 0s and 1s VM ware has come up with their own disc file format and so far no one could make up to extract piece of information from [encrypted disc] disc file.

Hybrid cloud hosting uses both, the private server and the public server. The best feature of a hybrid cloud server is that a company can use the public resources for better scalability and at the same time the critical data can be kept private. Most of the organizations opt for hybrid cloud hosting services because of exposure to a wide number of resources.

Hybrid cloud hosting is a very efficient platform that provides with the following benefits:

1. Managing the traffic surges by scaling the web applications and servers for meeting the demands
2. Once the demands are met, you can conveniently delete the servers and only pay for the resources used
3. Colocate a mail, security or application and connect to the cloud server through a secure private network
4. Catering to the unique IT requirements of every type of business

Default Cloud Hosting

You like to know what is Hybrid Cloud Hosting...But First of all, you might want to know what cloud hosting is?

In a nutshell, cloud hosting (often also referred to as clustered hosting) is a step up from
the shared hosting infrastructure that is commonly used today. By handling security, load balancing and server resources virtually you are no longer restricted to the limits of one physical piece of hardware. In basic terms, online operations are not limited to a single server, they have access to the processing power of a number of servers that are distributed in real time.

In a physical environment, a web site (for instance) is limited to the resource constraints
that is housed within the physical unit (RAM, processing power, bandwidth etc). The concept of a cloud infrastructure no longer has this limitation – you, as a customer, can purchase as much computing power as you need from a virtually inexhaustible supply. The nature of the infrastructure means that scaling up and down is seemless and thus spikes in traffic aren’t problematic.

Load-balancing occurs at the software level and is dynamically load-balanced across a number of servers. Servers can be added or removed from the cluster with no impact or downtime on hosted applications meaning less disruption for customers. The cloud architecture has the ability to provide small and medium enterprises the stability and resilience of a web hosting architecture that a few years ago only huge corporate organization could obtain through huge IT expenditure.

One of the major business benefits of hybrid cloud hosting is that it enables the companies to keep the mission-critical applications and information in-house secured behind the firewall and therefore they are secured from the third party access.

Yes, hybrid cloud hosting enables secured database between the clients and the concern, and its effect on the database will depend on how you access the database. When access is gained or given, only then a connection is made and user or program will fetch the data, location can not be predicted, as the storage of the cloud is encrypted and special encryption also and bits are used to save the data in different format.

The hybrid cloud infrastructure is a composition of two or more distinct cloud infrastructures (private, community, or public) that remain unique entities, but are bound together by standardized or proprietary technology that enables data and application portability (e.g., cloud bursting for load balancing between clouds).
