Default Problems creating ftp account

Hi peeps

Yesterday I wanted to access our ftp account but when I logged in I kept getting an error message. I raised a support ticket and after several hours backwards and forwards I eventually got access.

Sometimes I can get quite frustrated when I have spent several hours addressing and issues with support and then for no apparent reason things change on my side things start to work properly.

From a perspective of explaining to my employer what has been one of my primary task for the last several hours ( & for my own development ) its important to have an understanding of what the problem was - whether it was something I have done or some change on WHUK's side.

So at the end of this discussion when I asked about the problem I got the following response.

It seems to be that while created FTP ******@****** name the document root is not set properly due to that you are facing the problem. In future while creating new FTP account please do not insert any path in "Directory" or always use public_html in "Directory" section.

What does that mean?
