Yeh - reformat and start again
The best software I found was not much - they all CLAIM they do everything but the reality is they seldom can (in my opinion)
If you have a corrupted system then it might be easier just to restart again, and this time create a disc image as you go
On our forum (don't panic WHUK it's not selling anything) you can see how to reinstall
Windows XP or Windows Vista if you need a hand.
