Migration will indeed require a manual process due to the fact that DNP does not have any utility to migrate account from Plesk to DNP. Till today we are doing every thing manually however if there are too many domains (over 15) or database then we require some help from our client. This is because DNP control panel has few password and username policies which makes it difficult for us to record them all and send it to our client, so it is better that the client create all the require domains and databases and then we can migrate the data from the Plesk servers.
Every one needs to make a note that:
1. We do not create email accounts nor do we transfer any emails as Mail server on both the control panel is different. So you may loose all your emails and their account settings while migrating from Plesk to DNP.
2. You will need to edit your scripts and change the entire connection string, as I mention earlier DNP has few user and password policies for security reasons and these connection string settings cannot be same as that on Plesk and Database servers are not local to web server hence the IP of database servers will also change. Information about the IPs of different server can be found in the Welcome email.
3. The mailing forms on the website will need to be configured to use a different mail server (and not localhost) and also use "User Authentication Method" to send emails as relying for webserver will not be allowed.
We might add few more points in the list as we go on with the migration of accounts. But I will also take this opportunity to mention that DNP is far more comprehensive and secure than Plesk.
