I think Gmail's SPAM control is best (and hotmail is worst). I remember once I got a Pishing mail in disguise of PayPal, it was in Spam folder, on the first look even I got confused and thought that Gmail has done mistake with an important mail, afterwards I recognized it as Pishing mail. After that I have trust on Gmail, however Gmail make mistakes but those are rare.
And 5 GB of space is enough for a mailbox, unlimited space is useless (for me at lest). Some of the features for which I think Gmail is special are : POP and IMAP support, mail forwarding, setting custom filters. I don't like checking email through webmail, so POP and IMAP is very essential for me to check with email clients like Outlook.
