The Group Mail cost a bit and I have just paid for the licence for another year. I have no problem sending them via SMTP through my other hosts mail servers using this program. I assume a "php based mailer" will cost me again and Group Mail will be unused - if that is the case it is not an option. I would rather just cancel the hosting for these accounts here and move it all back to my other hoster. 
Are you really prepared to let me send 8000 emails during a couple of hours at night once or twice a month if I let you know in advance?
I'm obviously not spamming or I wouldn't have posted on here - it is an opt in newsletter which some of my customers (I have a database of 17,000) asked to be sent. |
There's no cost for php based mailing scripts. You can check phplist which is available in Fantastico. phplist is free and you can install it with few clicks of mouse.
We have no problem with 8,000 newsletters if sent at night.
